I’m often asked what’s the point of owning a home or land in Second Life? It’s certainly a valid question. You sure don’t need to have a home or land. You can just as easily find a place you like, and put your avatar there when you log off, so when you log back on, that’s where you’ll appear. There are plenty of public sandboxes and changing rooms to use when you buy new clothes or hair. (more…)

I have been reading OSHO books for some time now, and I’m a huge fan. Repeatedly, I have been impressed with OSHO’s knowledge of the gurus of the past, of his respect for certain passages in texts of all religions, and in the details of his discourses. I’m grateful to all the people who have put his words down into these many wonderful volumes that I’ve been reading and absorbing these past few years. (more…)

I have a few friends who still insist that the only valuable form of human interaction is through in-person contact. They insist that any form of communication on the computer is going to be sterile, cold, and impersonal. My argument is that may be true for how they communicate, but it sure doesn’t apply to the many millions in the world who have found social networks incredibly social and valuable. In fact, I know people who can’t communicate well in-person or online. The quality of communication doesn’t depend on the medium being used, but rather the people involved in conversation. (more…)
