My God is the RIGHT God!
While I was driving home the other day, I saw a bumper sticker on the car in front of me that said, “My God is the RIGHT God!”
Holy righteousness, Batman, can this be true? Well then, my imaginary friend is smarter than yours!
This is my main pet peeve with religions is that they create gaping schisms between people instead of bringing us together. If it’s taught that the God of your religion is judgmental, has such a fragile ego that you’re not even supposed to explore other possibilities, and the leaders of your religion are teaching it’s our way or the highway, then it’s likely the followers will behave in the same divisive, self-righteous way.
It’s my opinion that we can’t have peace on Earth as long as these religions are active. I could yammer about this all day. Instead, I’m posting one of my favorite George Carlin routines. No one says it better than George. May his words reverberate through each generation until religion is a thing of the past:
