Join the Science Community via Social Networks

I recall how excited I was 15 years ago when I first signed up for NASA’s press releases online. I still get those press releases, but because of social networks, I also get to talk directly with scientists online through Twitter, Facebook, various chat tools, and scientific sites. Even more exiting, I get to be a part of discovery!

Science as Comedy

Along comes Neil deGrasse Tyson. Neil is every bit the science advocate Carl was, and Neil’s brings a delightful sense of humor and wit that we’ve not seen in a scientist in, well, ever I think. In addition to breaking down scientific concepts into understandable language, he explains with the same enthusiasm as Carl but the humor of a well practiced comedian. Put him with a professional comedian, and science becomes not only downright funny, but damn near pornographic (in the most humorous of ways.)
